Alastair qualified from Bristol University in 2004 with honours. He then began work in a mixed practice focusing primarily on equine work. Following 12 years he decided to set up an equine only practice based in Blakedown alongside colleagues from his previous practice. He has a particular interest in Equine Internal Medicine and holds a certificate in Equine Internal Medicine which he received in 2018.
