Claire graduated from the University of Bristol in 2001. In October 2001 she moved to Worcester and started work at a small animal and equine practise. During this time she did a lot of charity work. Claire worked at this practise for 5 years then moved to Clent Hills Veterinary Group then subsequently on to Field Equine Vets. Claire enjoys seeing and caring for our geriatric horses, linked to this and PPID (Cushings), she also enjoys being able to help our laminitic cases. This stems from her final year at University where her case book looked at laminitis. She also enjoys looking after our camelid friends (alpacas!) and relishes the challenge of managing wounds that our equineb companions seem so adept at getting!
Claire is also on the JMB panel for measuring horses/ponies and is approved by the RCVS as an inspector of Riding Schools. Claire’s second love outside of her veterinary work is side saddle. She owns a 20 year old Haflinger stallion called Tom who is her beloved side saddle partner. She has owned Tom for 7 years and together they enjoy competing and promoting the art of side saddle, they have also just started doing some veteran British Dressage.
